What should I do? My car is pretty much stock.

Do the install yourself and don't get a tune. My friend and i just finished putting Lt's on his '99 formula and it was not as hard we thought. Im 18 and he is 19 and we don't have any advanced car knowledge. So if we can do it, you can do it. Just make sure you have some tall jacks or ramps or someway to get the car atleast 2 ft off the ground.
I hear that a tune will help, but you don't need a tune with just bolt ons. Waste of $$$$ cause they are expensive. Don't get a tune until you get a cam - or something internal.

If you have a spare car, put them in yourself so you can take your time and enjoy it. When I ran into snags on my install, I just took a shower and surfed the net for answers and continued the next day. The last thing you want to do is be rushed on a job you have never done before. IMO they do not add enough horsepower to require a tune.

I've got headers and numerous bolt ons and I am not getting a tune until I get a stall and cam installed.

Tune will help out a lot. Find a good shop to get a tune that can keep doing your tune. Most shops will tune your car and keep your info stored and next time you get tuned, it's a pro rated shop rate. But Most people wait till a cam and full bolt ons for a tune.

Id love to get a tune. In fact, I prolly need one, but I dont know where a dyno shop is around here (live 40min north of west palm beach).
I also never understood the price for tunes. I mean, Id pay $100 tops for the allegid labor that I see being done. I mean, you can get your headers installed by a guy who is sweating and using 'elbow grease' for a fraction of the cost.

put them in yourself. my pacesetters went in pretty easy. and unless you are gonna get a cam, etc. in the near future, i would reccomend a tune. your gas milage will not be as good until you get a tune. and until you you get a tune, your headers are not going to be at their full potential at all.

Install the headers and get a tune. Whoever would go through the task of getting LT's, installing them and wanting to get the most out of doing so but not get thier ride tuned is telling people you don't want your 'bang for the buck' (which is exactly what this car is). if you don't want to optimize the true performance of your car and enjoy it a whole lot more, then skip getting a tune, but that's just crazy...

In alot of cases it's not that the full power from the headers is not wanted, it's that alot of us don't know where to go and get a tune.It would be nice if those who have gotten a tune would help by posting where they got their tune done and for how much.I want to add a set of headers and a stall but don't have any ideal of where to go to get a tune after doing so .well than again I do,but it's 300 miles one way.So maybe some of you that have a tune can post and that way we can see what is close to us.

I'm nowhere close. RPM here in Dallas, $400 for the tune (did it when I got the cam) and anytime from here on out, I can get it tuned for $50 (dyno time)

Conley Performance Houston, Texas
$400 for the lifetime tune
$50 bucks for dyno time if I add any other bolt ons to tune it
