32 valve ls1 heads?
I was on a local fbody club site and someone posted this link to a forum where these guys from Arao Engineering are making 32 valve heads for ls1, 2,6,7,X applications!.
ITs insane lookin on the bottom side....
He said no mods were need for ls motors as were in gen 1 and 2 motors.....
THe biggest shock though was the price lol.....7 GRAND!!!
Anybody know much bout these?
TSP Rumbler, LT's, TSP Tqr2, PRC 921 Springs, Comp Lifters, Chromoly 7.4" Pushrods, Titanium Retainers/Seats/Seals, ARP head bolts, BMR full Rear suspension

So, each rocker is connected to 2 seperate valves? I don't think I quite understand how they will work with no modification.

me neither.....on a 1gen smc they say something on their site about 127hp over stock heads....i think like 60 over the best aftermarket ones......
Apparently they are just barely releasing the ls1 heads....there isnt anything on their site about it but a guy from the company kept talkin about em in another forum....I think www.ls1-lt1.com.....something like that

No way they are getting 120 horses out of just a head swap, there has to be something more, a BIG something more.
It just sounds like the original valves are basically being widened into 2 valves to accomodate more flow with a bigger, combined valve opening. Would love to see some pics.

7k for heads!?
Even if they do make 127 HP with a head swap (which I doubt), They are more expensive than a new engine.

For that price, why not just supercharge?

The only thing these heads would really benefit would be straight-up race cars. Those are the only application I can think of that could demand that much air movement. And I agree, I don't think the price would make them worth the investment at all, unless they are self-cleaning, make espresso, repair themselves, and do my laundry.

how could they make these heads for the ls1? im just not following. you would have to change so many things, most obvious of which is the pushrod/cam combo. im curious how you make a 16v pushrod engine support 32 valves and not be overhead cam.
update this whenever you can. it seems crazy, but crazy is what im in to.

Hhmm...looks interesting. I started reading that thread and they also mentioned that the same company also makes 32v heads for SBC's and LTx's. I still don't think the price is justified. But I guess I understand some of the benefits.

They are overpriced and I know they wouldn't be allowed in any form of drag racing that I currently know of and probably not much else either. Like several have said, you'd be way better off with a procharger or turbo.

True, they are not cost effective, but neither were $1200 VCRs. Now you can get them for nect to nothing. Regardless, it's interesting to see someone trying it. I'd love to see the flow data and power made...

Yeah, but unlike VCRs, there won't be millions made and the prices dropping into the affordable range.

With the right cam, these heads would KILL at the dragstrip compared to others on the market. You wanna play, you gotta pay! I wonder what effect the metal removal for the extra valves will have so far as cracking and such goes.

Not worth it by a long shot.. The cheapest set they offer is around 7500 bucks, and the supposedly only net you a 100hp gain. A good set of heads with only 2 valves per cylinder will get you close to that. Just my .02

Not worth it for most of us, but could have a market in high end racing...

Draw your money-gun and start shooting!
I called the company after checking their website.
They are making heads for the LS2 and LS7.
They say they will make heads for the LS1 soon.
$7500 Stage 2
$8500 Stage 3
Plus you must use an LS7 Intake manifold.
