Black- 93 Z28
Just blew my LT1 (rod bearings went out) looking for a replacement
Got a 93 z28 with 80k miles. I think down shifting to first from 40 caused my piston rings to go out, burning up all my oil within a week, and caused the bearings to go out. The motor now has a knock. It was drove for a couple miles with a knock, so I don't know the extent of the damage. What I'm going to do is just replace it. Anyone here know where I can get ahold of a LT1 with less than 100k miles? I'm trying to pay less than 400 shipped because I lost my job when it broke down, so I really can't pay much more. I've been looking on craigslist and ebay religiously, so far haven't found anything in my price range. Hopefully I'll have better luck here. Thanks.
EDIT: Wow what did I get a warning for?

For 400$ I think you're going to have a pretty hard time finding anything. Local junk yards maybe?
And I have no idea why you were warned, or by whom.

Yeah I think it's going to seriously hinder my ability to find a motor on here. I don't remember posting anything offensive or bad here (and I never do), could a moderator please tell me what's going on?

that's weird man...none of your posts seem offensive. the only thing you said that could've been misunderstood and got u warned was the classified thing, but you called yourself on it, so i'm stumped...
anyway-
I'm trying to help you though I'm looking all over the place for an lt1 for you.
i'm heading to one of our local salvages that has tons of 4th gen camaros and birds(even has my formy...) keep ur fingers crossed!
my buddy has a 3.8 firebird, that's totalled for $500, but that swap would be a bitch i think... i did a 3.4 to a 3.8 and wanted to die

Getzen_Guy, that's awesome thanks for looking around. 850 is definitely out of my price range, but thanks for checking. I'll keep the fingers crossed...
35thz28camaro - Would love to have a motor like that but that's about 1...2..3.. lets see.. 4? times more than I can afford. Thanks and good luck on the sale though.
