Best Oil?
For a stock LS1. Completely stock. I've always used Lucas Oil, but I just switched to Royal Purple. It seems to run smoother now, althogh people are telling me to switch to Pennzoil Platinum.
What do you think?

why is royal purple one of the worst? Ive been using it for about a year in my 98 ss with 100k. Im just curious what your reasons are for why its so bad?
its been dyno proven to give you extra horsepower and extensively tested to be safe.

Yeah I've heard a lot of people say that Royal Purple isn't very good without saying why. My old automotive teacher from high school swore by Royal Purple, and he was an intelligent man with a bunch of car projects.

SuperTech/Walmart full syn = 1 1/2 quarts consumed between oil changes
Valvoline Full Synthetic = 1 1/2 quarts consumed between oil changes
Royal Purple = Maybe 1/4 - 1/2 quart between oil changes
I am thinking about trying Amsoil on my next oil change.
