buy programmer for tunes or speed shop for tunes?
i have a A4 planning on NX soon w headers on the way should i have shop do the tune or buy a programmer for tunes/ future tunes. can the speed shop do more then the PG er or shoould i save some money w the PG. just asking casue a tune is 560 bucks

SHOP.....and its only 275 here at neweraperformace so keep looking...must be more than one shop with a dyno in detroit

thats probly true, but this place is only a mile a way. not complaing about gas and all but, thses guys are really the best and there in every mag and always on TV and espn soo if any body knows there stuff they do. but yea i did also look for more places still the same price.
i guess you get what you pay for

Most tuners use HPtuners, LS1edit, EFIlive etc. which is software that is capable of changing almost every thing in your PCM so yes they can do more than a handheld.

yes. problem is, if you ever mod the car some more, you have to go back and have them re-tune it and get charged for it. there are only two handhelds that are capaple of handling cams and heads on a car, predator and the vinci tuners. with the predator, you can have a tuner use it to upload his changes. the predaotr is limited to only one 'canned' tune with the ability to modify it.
the vinci tuner has multiple 'canned' tunes, based on cam profiles and if you have a super charger. i've use the vinci tuner to work the wife's car back when i put heads on it, then later when i put a cam in. here's a webpage i made about the tuner.

i'd suggest go get it tuned by a shop unless you know your shit, but you should also have a tuner with you anyways ..predator..yum
