2003 SVT Cobra or 98-2002 Trans Am WS6?
Hey guys, just having a problem deciding. I know the cobra will be a little bit more money. I have loved the WS6 since it came out, and I previously owned a 2001 WS6. I was looking at getting another WS6, but they I started maybe considering a 03 Cobra. It might be cool to switch it up a little bit. Normally I would never consider getting a Mustang, but the Cobra have impressed me!
So what do you guys think I should get?
2003 Cobra?
98-2002 Trans Am WS6?
Thanks a lot!

you said it yourself, it might be cool to switch it up a bit.
get what you want. You'll be the one driving it. Which cars looks appeal to you the most? you can mod either car to the same power. The stang is prolly cheaper for that correct me if im wrong.
It boils down to which one of these do you see yourself driving?
if you want my vote, Im a GM guy so natch, it's the Pontiac for me!

I love the looks of the SS, WS6, and Cobra. I'd also recommend factoring in what you want out of the car in terms of a power to cost ratio. If you want to do a moderate amount of ugrading, you'd already have the built motor in the cobra. However, "there's no replacement for displacement" and if you did the same mods to the WS6 or SS then look at what you'd have! (I'm not helping am I?)
Word of Caution: Cobra motors (particularly forged) are HELLAVU expensive to rebuild!!!!!! The parts are freaking outrageous. Ask me how I know...lol

Blue GMC Canyon- trans ams gone now
i figure the cobra's would be easier to mod. i don't know too much about them other than smaller pulleys and i saw borla exhaust that got around 40 or 50 extra hp to wheels on like an 03 or 04 cobra in one of my popular hot rodding mags. i'm not too much into mustangs but the cobra's are bad ass and i wouldn't mind having one . on the other hand i grew up loving the trans am and i have a flippin bird tattooed on my arm. so my dedication has always been to the birds. pony's run but birds can fly.

since you left it up to the AAG to advise you;
I say you don't get either and you get a Dodge Omni - it'll way so much more smoke either of your svt or ws6 and it'll hold like 1000's my little ponys, plus 4 guys can pick it off the ground and spin it, try that with a cobra, on the really good side you'll be able to park in the compact parking or maybe in the shopping cart return rack, try that with a TA - look at the picture this one has a front mounted wheely bar just in case you get crazy in reverse

both cars are kickass. i think you could go either way. its what you like better, both are going way faster then most people can handle. but as far as hp per dollar, that cobra is prolly one of the sweetest purchases one can make. if you look at them the right way the horsepower increases in those cars lol i think if jus washing and waxing an 03 cobra is worth 50 horses. lol anyways things to consider, the cobra has irs which has its benefits and disadvantages, the ws6 a live axle but a weak one at that, the cobras short block is built for boost meaning it can take a lot more then what it faces stock, the ls1 will have to get tinkered with quite a bit more in depth and elaborately to get in the same horsepower range as a cobra. for someone not real car savvy you can put a smaller pully on the cobra and and some bolt ons and get 450 rwhp and up whereas to get the same with the ls1 your most likely looking at pulling the heads off and putting a bigger cam in. jus things to consider. as far as things like interior go the 4th gen fbodies have more of a sports car feel whereas in a cobra u dont sit as low. the mustangs backseat is better though. jus my 2 cents.

01SS full boltons, ceramic long tube headers, intake 80mm bbk and fast, tune lid, all the free mods, short throw, b&b triflo. all equal thousands of dollars in mods, just as fast as a bone stock 03 cobra. if the cobra had a tune it would have made the SS look like a pig. squeeel piggy. it sucked my buddy was so pissed. like 375rwhp 360ish rwtq vs bone stock. if you want to look cool TA if you want to look cool and win cobra. im sorry but go race anybody that knows what there doing in a cobra, equals a bad day.
OH and FUCK FORD

I hate to agree, but the cobra wins. I was looking for one but could not find one near my price range and seeing that I needed to get one on quick notice I ended up with a WS6 which is by no means a bad thing! After I get back from Korea about the only thing on this car that will be OEM is the interior and the frame lol.

Since you owned a 01 ws6...i'd say get a 03/04 cobra. It'll be a nice change which you said you wanted and the cobra's have awesome potential.
