Wide F...ing open long tubes!
I want to do a long tube setup w/out cats that dumps the exhaust on either side of the car using two custom sections of pipe bolted up to the collectors. This is not a post about exhaust sound or raspyness so don't come in hear starting s..t about it sounding terrible. I like an exhaust note that is wide open loud and raw. I have a loud mouth right now and like it but i want people calling the cops when i drive by because the sound is breaking their windows. I am talking really offensive. What problems do you think i would have making this work?

Seriously, just run it through the loudmouth with the headers and no cats, it's stupid loud, I know I've got it. From 50 feet away it hurts your ears. I've got a video but it doesn't do justice to how stupidly loud it is, I tried to do some drive offs and drive-bys and get it on here but it seems like the camera just doesn't let you know how loud it is regardlesss. It sound effin GOOOD and pisses people off constantly. I think ground clearance is going to kill you out the sides unless you go at least back a little farther and exit in front of the rear tires. I also hear you'll never be able to put on subframe connectors either. Just imagine loudmouth x6 or so, totally unrefined raw sound. I love it. I never get tired of pissing people off with it, never

burn valves? tickets? how about you actually contribute instead of making smart ass coments. Not you z_driver1, you're chill. I want to know if anyone has done it and if so how did they made it happen. I want to do it because it would be unique.

There are pics on here or LS1tech, I'll see if I can find them. Some chick ran it back a few feet and straight over in front of the rear tires

The h pipe will give more of the sound you want, while the x will benefit a little more in power due to better scavenging, but it cleans up the sound. I hope you do plan to put one of the two in it?

im planning on running dual cutouts on my Y pipe when i get my headers installed, will have the stock exhaust running out the back if i need to be silent... probable will also keep the cutout i have on the I-Pipe right now so I can have some kind of inbetween

Well, considering the exhaust pictured has converters, a crossover and the chambered mufflers, that might not be so incredibly loud.
A crossover of either kind will smooth out the sound by connecting both banks of the engine. If the pipes are long enough to reach in front of the rear wheels, you shouldn't have any problems burning valves I wouldn't think.
But yeah, if you have as open header exhaust breathing out the side of the car, I would expect tickets to be a problem too. I knew a guy that had a pinto with a 302 and headers, and the guy that built it had put 1-chambers and glasspacks on each side. He still got loud muffler tickets after explaining to the cops he had four mufflers.Hammer - hammertime.us

Burnt valves? Can anyone explain this to me? I don't understand how running a short exhaust system (meaning only right after the header) would cause the valves to burn. What specifically causes this?

where are the nearest exhaust hangers after the manifold. i could get under my car and look but i would rather as you. because if i were to go with side pipes, i would want to have a hanger on each side just so all of the weight would not be held up by the headers.
