Help me pick a daily driver!
Looking for something decent to putt around in and let the TA take a break. Not looking to spend more than 5k.
Ive flurtted w/ the idea of getting an lt1 but Im afraid Id be inclined to mod it.
Also, looking at integras and 300Zs but finding these in decent shape for a fair price is tough.
Any suggestions?

Pontiac Aztek's are damn sexy. You should get one of those. You wouldn't be tempted to mod it. Hell you probably wouldn't even want to drive it so the mileage would stay low also, which is a bonus when it comes to resale.

Mid/Late 90's Toyota Avalon.
With around 100,000 miles on them, they've still got lots of ticks left, and they can be had for around 5K.
You get luxury, a 200-horsepower V6, and reliability. A step above the Accord/Camry legions of daily drivers.
And for heaven's sake, don't buy another Pontiac for a daily!! You don't want to have to spend money on repairs every month.

Find a 92/94 Dodge truck with a 3.9 in it!
It will run forever, and even out run a few 4banger Hondas. Mine has 130k
still rocks with rust!

Get a Honda and be done with it.
Or find a small Toyota truck in that price range. Nothing is better than a beater truck. Parts hauling ability, reliability, and good gas mileage.

A Honda would be your best bet. They run forever and good gas milage. When I parked my TA I bought an older eclips, it did really good in the snow and I got 35mpg. POS dds are fun I would beat the piss out of that thing and not care!

Black/Screaming Yellow- 99 S/C TA WS6 & 04 Cobra
Try and find a 2002-04 Envoy or Trailblazer with 2wd and the inline 6. The early to mid 90's Nissan pick-ups are really good with gas mileage or just about any import sedan with a small 4 or 6 banger...

we had a 99 sedan. Best car I've ever owned I think. It was good enough that I still miss it 3 years later. Nice power for that size of a car and awesome gas mileage. My wife averaged 27mpg with it with most of her driving being highway but not all of it. We saw 30+ on trips from time to time. 120k when I got rid of it and never had to do any serious work to it other than maintenance. Did have the shifter lockout mess up but nothing a pair of needle nose pliers couldn't fix.
