I can buy one or the other, any suggestions?

pewter- 99 trans am
really depends on what you want. just check the value on each and compare it to the price. decide if you want ragtop or t-tops. ceta's are beautiful to me. i would go for that if it was my money. how often would you ride with the top down on a vert?

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
Same miles, same price, same condition? CETA all day. Rarer, probably cleaner.
Alot is coming down to personal preference, too. Like Mike mentioned, do you like a the look/use of a vert? I personally don't when the top is up, but down is ok. It looks too Sunday-driverish to me, not as sporty, but that's my opinion. Also, t-tops are enough "openness" for me. Try taking them both for a spin with the tops off and see which one you like better. Rag tops need to be taken care of, you don't want them to go bad. Seals can go on the t-tops, but I would rather have that happen than have to replace the rag top. Also in the personal department is the color, if I get a different one, I would go CETA or even SOM, because black is a pain in the ass to keep up. Every flaw in your paint will be exposed in the sun.
Vert parts can be different from coupe parts too, just as an FYI. Also, some people might tell you vert's have less torque than coupes, but I think it's negligible until you start to seriously mod.

i live in Miami, so the top would be down more. but not sure if the t-tops are not just about the same?

T-tops are not the same. But they're good enough for me.
is it going to be a daily driver?

oh if it was a six speed it would already be mine. otherwise, an automatic convertible has it's stigmas, and I would go for the CETA, or just keep looking..
I would feel guilty DD'ing a CETA

Pewter Metallic- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
Everyone knows im a T-Top kind of guy,IMO the coupes just look more sportier to me,not knocking the verts, but i just had too many bad experiences that i couldnt afford with the last convertible i had,so i personally wouldnt ever buy a vert again, but at the end of the day its all about what makes you happy man, congrats on whatever one you buy

Verts require a bit more maintenance but damn they are fun to drive when the weather is nice! My opinion there are plenty of babied CETAs out there. I see more CETAs on the road where I live than WS6 Verts. Now a black vert looks great but if the interior is also black on a sunny day with the top down it is a lot like sitting in a frying pan. My neutral color interior hasn't burned me yet even on pretty hot days. Get whatever will make you happy and quick asking someone else!

I didnt really like my vert. Someone cut it up trying to break in. Then when i had it replaced the window was not sealed right, and it dry rotted in a matter of months. But I did get a lot of attention with it!

I'm pretty Fond of black but I hate verts so.. CETA for me as well. I've actually never seen one in person where I live or anywhere in Ohio or ny short of a car show. But as someone else said, I'd feel guilty DDing one. They look sharp though.
Of course none of this matters. Your call, we're not all going to agree.

SOM- 2001 SOM WS6 408
Come up here to Milwaukee and I will solve your problem. There is a Poncho dealer with a CE vert 6 speed. it has been sitting for a while and the weather isn't getting any warmer!
