Alternator Pulley Removal??
I'm taking off the alternator pulley to swap it...I don't want to strip the threads out of it, so does anyone have any tips on how to take it off?? Is the nut inside of it a locking nut? does it need to turn counter clockwise or clockwise? Any help would be appreciated!!
Anyone??Last edited by chevyin55; 03-05-2006 at 04:32 PM.

You should see a few threads sticking out passed the nut. Follow them and see which
direction they go. If they spiral to the left, you must turn the nut to the right to get it off. It's probably a LEFT-HAND thread as I said above, which is BACKWARDS of what
is NORMAL.2002 Sunset Orange TransAm 6 spd.
