Thing that make you go hmmm... dumb laws etc.
It's mandatory to wear a seatbelt in a car; but, riding motorcycles is no problem.
TN makes the motorcyclist wear a helmet as if the dumb ass rider would harm anyone but himself by not wearing one...
Why does a democrat need to vote in the Presidential election if he or she lives in MS or TN. The vote won't count anyway.

Both seatbelt and helmet laws are dumb. It should be the persons choice to use either. With that said, I personally think it's dumb for anyone to drive without a seatbelt or ride without a helmet, but it should still be a personal choice as it doesn't affect the safety of others.

I agree with minors being required to wear for safety, but once your an adult it's your fault if you want to be projected through the front windshield for not wearing a seat belt. Same goes with helmets, all I think is you should be an automatic organ donor if you do.

yeah, ..one thing is there are too many dumb laws, many from eons ago... sometimes you can get the interest of a state rep/sen and getting some repealed.. my guess is that the seat belt/helmet laws are based on keeping deaths down, which, in some cases could lead to public money assistance to dependents of persons who did not plan "responsibly" for their own death..???

Those laws are for revenue generation under the disguise of public safety only

here in nv there used to be a law that when you got out of jail you would recieve $50 and a horse. it was forgotten for a long time. but when a guy asked for the money and the horse a while back he recieved both and that law was quickly stricken from the books.

Seabelt law is $20 a pop, and I get them all the time, its freaking revenue thing. I hate seat belts. Sliced my neck open in my truck when I wrecked it, won't wear it ever again.

Seatbelts are good for a front end collision. They really do nothing for rear end(whiplash) and odds are if youre hit in the drivers door wearing one youll be dead. Helmet laws suck. Unless you hit a tree when you fly off. 90% of the time when you drop a bike your head isnt what hits the ground. You know how they have ez pass for cars going through a toll booth? Now they have one for trucks so they dont have to stop at weigh stations.

I can's stand a front license plate... cannot stand them. We had that same law in Connecticut but they rarely enforces it. When I moved to Maryland I was freaking out, and mad as hell over putting a front license plate on my car, and the new Maryland plates are Really ugly. but, to be completely honest I don't drive my car much, so I put the plate on and my black cover over it... honestly I really stopped caring. I'll wear a seat belt, helmet on a bike... ok. there are two things i will not do to my car and a front license plate is one of them.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
No front plate required in Az either.
While I lived in Cali I got so many of those (it was a "fix-it" ticket) that I know the code by heart: CVC5200...

Hummm... that was so stupid i had to look it up... and I think politicians need hobbies other than making stupid, pointless laws... i really don't know what else to say, i really don't want to be on a secret service hit list, but i really feel sorry for them, there crazy, they think there helping us but the fact is there the ones that need the help, worrying about fitted sheets in hotel rooms.
