stereo engine noise
Have a new head unit, 4 channel, and 2 channel amps. And I have major engine noise in the car. Seems like it's coming from the 4 channel. I tried re-doing the grounds, went over the connections, etc.
Any comments of where this horriffic noise is coming from.

It can be from the power wires and the grounds. Is everything grounded at the same place? That is one way to get rid of the sound. Also, if that does not work, there are filters that you can buy that will get rid of that noise.

we tried one ground for both amps, didn't help. The noise get's louder with additional load, like when the fans or lights are on.

Go down to Radio Shack Tex....get a inline noise filter for car audio...it splices into your power wire....filters all that crap out muy pronto for like $20 bucks or less.....looks something like these....
