curious...
just wondering around how much HP it takes to lift the front end off (even just a little) with an F body? i'm sure a lot depends on your rear traction and other things, but anyone have a rough idea? just curious!

there is a shit load of circumstances...
you need good slicks... perfect suspension... and as much weight removed from the front as you can... infact... you could probayl do it with a stock car provided a god transmission and rear remain intact throught a high rpm launch....

is the stock rear end most likely gonna go before you can really think about it?

teal- 99 Z28 with an SS complex
good supspension and slicks i would just guess in the the f-bod 450-500 rwtq will get'em off the ground. It is not the horsepower that lifts the front end like that, it's torque.

It'd be sweet as hell to stop at redlights, take off and lift em 6" or so off the ground, wouldn't it? Not so high that you can't see where you're going or so high that coming down is gonna beat you up, but just enough so that people notice and go OMGWTF was that!

Stock is enough power with the right suspension/tire.

Outside of clutch and throttle coordination which also applies to the centripitals of torque converter applications in automatic transmissions lies the notion of what started the object moving in the first place ...
Which is,
Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to stay in that state unless an external force is applied to it, which is Newtons 1st law.
Newtons 3rd law - the equal and opposite one is a bit dodgy - applied to the above, if you push an object it will move (the action)
But it also means that you must have pushed against something else in the opposite direction which offered up more resistance (the reaction).
So both laws applied, if you push something - it will keep moving until something stops it.
Concerning thrust, momentum and gravity, generally what happens is that the centre of gravity (CoG) is above that of the centre of thrust (CoT).
When you have this situation, the thrust forward is below the momentum which is pushing back.
This offset of the CoG and CoT produces another force - Lift.
Vortex differentials in any of these including weight transfer once Lift is greater than Gravity ...
... the front end leaves the ground and you solo down the road like some sort of God of the Airborne.
