Sun faded interior
The sun has faded the header trim piece and the sun visors on my vert. Has anyone restored these back to a like new condition with our having to buy new ones????

Mine are faded too, my driver's side visor is also a little chewed up from having my garage door opener clipped to is (doh! will probably need to replace that one). Also, the underside of the top liner is showing signs of fading. I've not attempted to correct any of these conditions yet, but would also be interested in possible solutions.

I'm trying to figure out how you guys faded interior parts already, you don't get that much sun (or top down driving weather for that matter) in Indiana or Michigan
In any event, dying or replacing are the only solutions I'm aware of. I'm more a fan of replacement myself.

Have you tried talking to local upholstery shop? The fabric on the header panel looks to be the same as a headliner in a coupe. Shouldn't be to hard to recover your existing trim piece as long as the backing is in good shape. Years ago, it was very common for them to recover the visors too.

I bought a vinyl dye on ebay to take care of my faded plastics. Worked very well. Very pleased. Had been looking for good replacements but never found any. Vinyl dye cost me $13

MAY BE A LITTLE LATE ON THIS but the shop that replaced my top recolored the faded parts of my headliner. it looks real good, old and new match up well. also the shop offered to reupholster the pieces above the windows, windshield and visors for $60.00. used a gray cloth that looks as if it should have come out the factory that way. i'm not a purist, I use, like camaro front seats, what looks good to me.
