We set all time records mon-tue here for October ...94 on one day and 92 the other. This morning it was 46 heading to softball. Definitely more hunter friendly weather. Gotta get my camper put in down there this week.

It has been a chaotic last 3 weeks. My stepdad was attacked by his own son in my Mom's house . He spent a week in the hospital before dying from organ failure. POS son is in jail, now under first degree murder charges. My poor mom is an absolute mess, she just lost her last husband to lung cancer 5 years ago and now this. My brother and I found out that crime scene cleanup is very expensive and her homeowner's insurance wasn't going to cover, so he and I and a few other family members had to do it ourselves. I've never seen anything like it, and I hope I never do again (murder weapon was a katana that I bought for previous stepdad years ago, just to make things that much worse).
On a positive note, we are finally closing on our house this week. My mom may end up in my old house if she sells hers, and I wouldn't blame her a bit if she did.

The pins are out.
Anytime they tell you "you'll feel a small pinch and slight discomfort" brace yourself, they are greatly understating how much it Fwaking hurts.........
The 1st one was like damn.....2nd one was OMFG.......stop for a minute, I need to catch my breath....3rd one was quit fwaking around and finish pulling it damn it......

We'll get through it, just one of those things you don't expect to happen in your own network. You see documentaries and shit on the crime channels and think nothing of it. I definitely agree now with some of those shows, it's not the stranger in a ski mask you need to worry about, most of the time these kinds of crimes are committed by someone close to you. His son was pretty unstable, my mom was trying to help him recover from his alcoholism, was letting him crash at their place and even had a job interview lined up for him....

She'll definitely need some time/therapy to get through it all.
Scott, glad you got your pins out. That sounds painful as shit though. You going to get some hunting in to celebrate?

Hell yes, Before the surgery I told him these needed to be out NLT OCT 1st, so 1 week extra isn't that big a deal. Already plan on range time this weekend. I gotta see which rifle (the AR 6.8 or my 30.06) I can handle the recoil best from. I built the 6.8 for hunting and really want to use it but at the same time I've gotten 3 deer with the 30.06 sine I've gotten 2 yrs ago and I'm kinda getting superstitious with it. also my son is going for the first time since he was 8 so whichever one I don't use he'll use. He's good on both so not an issue of adaptability. I may even get a new scope this weekend for the 6.8 now that the wife is flying to see her mom for a few weeks. She can't stop me if she's not here
It puts the lotion on the skin.....

Hope you both get some monsters then. I'm wanting to get out with the bow soon, but it may be November before I can. My plans right now all involve logistics with the new place. I MIGHT be able to sneak away to the woods next weekend sometime. Once rifle season hits here I'm itching to use my .300 blackout I finally finished building earlier this year. My brother has some ridiculous bucks wandering his plots, and he's going to let me get out there some this year. Hoping to get something mount worthy. Either way I'll get something freezer worthy

I'm looking into building a AR10. Either 6.5 or 308, not sure which one yet. The 6.5 seems to have a ton of options.

My dad built a 6.5, he loves it. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it's his new favorite.

Temps going to drop into the 30's here Saturday morning, so you should be seeing some cooler air next week if it doesn't lift off NE too much.
