new best et
well i went to the track on tuesday at gateway and ran a 13.08 @107.88
wow i am very happy with my car it was 62 degrees out that helped and my mods are slp cai, magnaflow muffler, tb bypass, and thats it elevation is 280 ft i think
i was hoping for a 12.99 but it didn't happen, i prdered the 160 thermo and b@m shift kit, maybe i 2 weeks i can slide into the 12.9's,
future mods offroad headers, tune, msd wires, and ls6 intake, and later a 12 bolt rear with 3.73's over those 2.73'3 i have
why is my car running so fast , i ran against other SS's and WS6's they were in the 13.6 with 3.42 gears and lid, the ss had drag radials even but probably stock

You have 2.73's...I am impressed that you ran that with those mod's! I am guessing you have a lid as well. Either way, good time's for a 2000 w/a ls1 intake and 2.73's!!!

Awesome times for lowly modded LS1/2.73s. I ran 13.1s @ 106.8 w/ my 2.73s but I have LTs/TDs/lid/free mods.

going to gateway in 2 weeks, new mods are, shift kit from b @m and it shifts hard, and i also removed all the emissions equiptment, that was 20 lbs, 160 thermo, not a whole lot but mayby those little things will push me intp the 12.9,s
20lbs is good foe .02sec, not much but every little helps
the shift kit is usually good for ..09
the thermo lets the car run cooler and less heat sink, so mayby a few extra pony's 2 or 3
my guess is with these mods i will run a 12.97 if temp and traction remain the same. will let you all know what i run

LOL! Sorry to burst your bubble but the emission stuff is not 20 lbs. I took mine all off and it probably weigh less than 5 lbs. the heaviest is the AIR pump. The 160 stat is worthless until you add manual fan switch or program your computer to turn your fans sooner which what I did.

sorry to burst your bubble numb nuts, but i weighed it all on a digital scale
and it wasn't 20 lbs it was 17.1
I weight the airpump, all air pump hoses, egr solenoid, and the CAST IRON bracket , the stainless steel tubing,
and i know at idle the thermo wont make much diff but when i drive there it will help the car stay cooler, and receive less heat sink

He's right about the thermostat...you have adjust the computer for 160 or it will still operate the same.

Heat this, heat that. Just pop your hood and have a 20-30 min cool down period between run's. Have you thought about iceing down your intake? I was going to but the damn STB was in the way. So I just dumped the ice in the cooler. Do you take your jack and spare out while you are at the track? Every little bit help's.

Pewter- 2000 Z28 Camaro
My 2000 Z28 has a 2.73 rear end and is basically stock. I have a lid and that's about it. My quickest pass was 13.44 @ 105.75 mph and my fastest pass was 13.52 @ 107.43. Those gears really make for high trap speeds. If you are going to modify the car, you would probably get more bang for your buck by installing a stall converter than lowering the gear ratio. It would probably be better for street driving as well since the lower gears would jack up your rpm and use more gas.
