Gen 4 Headlights
I have read some of the previous threads regarding the 180 degree rotation or replacement of the headlight gears with the brass of aluminum ones to repair the stripped nylon gears however, is there a way to program the headlights not to open and close each time the car is locked of unlocked. Seems like park lights flashing and the horn blowing is enough to tell you the security system is activated without having the lights opening and closing.
Thanks

The gears are bad if the headlights are comming up and down when locked.
This is not a stock feature, well its a stock feature of telling you the gears are bad.
Brent Franker and Rodney dickman make kits.
FYI. Never open/close the lights while moving

The gear is stripped in one of the lights however, it continues to work. I am going to rotate the gear for a temporary fix and order the replacement gears. When the car is locked the horn beeps, the parking lights flash and the two lights momentarily open and close. The one with the stripped gears makes the typical noise and the other operates normally.
Is there a way to exclude the opening and closing of the lights from the security verification? I have been told that this function can be turned off in the programming but I can't seem to find anyone or a tech manual to tell exactly how to do this.
Any specific information regarding if this can or can not be done will be appreciated.

its not normal..once you fix the gear/gears it wont do it anymore ...its similar to how your blinker wont work front and back if only 1 bulb is burnt out..it lets you know its time to fix it

Yeah go into programing mode and turn off the flash lights option. yer gonna need a owners manual or look for one on the net to know how to change the programing. Look under the heading Remote Keyless entry verification, there are 5 modes..you want mode 2...stock from the factory is mode 5 .
Good Luck Grasshopper.
