anyone use a tci?
winter is coming which means time to work on the car. Wanting to do a stall and some drag radials for next summer. TCI has a stall that I am interested in. Its only about a 2400 rpm stall which is about all I want. This isn't an all out track car and I will probably never go too crazy with the motor. Has anyone used a tci before? are they any good?
Junkyard bought and "refurbished" 2002 Camaro Z28 - Pacetter Race LT's, TS&P ORY, Frost tune, Magnaflow, Ported TB, SLP Lid, Circle D 3000, 3.73's, SFC's.
2009 Silverado Z71 - Magnaflow

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
TCI is a brand name. 2400 isn't much more than stock. I have a 3400 stall in front of a stock engine and it's too small.
The lock-up function allows you to go much bigger than you might think.67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...
2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior
2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.

I have friends that have run them.without any issues. I'd check circle d's website they make a great low end stall for cars with just bolt ons that's affordable and little better quality also I would go with a 3000 or 3200 at least to make it worth doing a stall. I don't think you'd really notice a.difference with a 2400. I drove a.ls1 Vette with a 3600 circle d and it felt stock under normal acceleration until I mashed the gas pedal then you could tell it had a stall.

Pewter metallic- 2000 Camaro SS
I have a 3800 TCI, have had it many years now, been in 2 different Camaros. I wouldn't waste my time doing a 2400 stall.

I have a 4000 TCI converter. The first 3 years in the car it was a 3500. I made a cam and gear change and sent it to TCI. They made it a 4000 converter and sent it back. I have been running the 4000 for 3 or 4 years now. No complaints and their service and customer serivce are great IMO...

You won't even notice a 2400... Go with a 3200 - 3600 at least, and get a locker unit...

I agree with everyone else. I had a 2,800 when I put my 1st cam in (a baby 220/224) and the convertor was even too small for it...went with a 3,800 next and love it. Both were tci
