Insurance claim help
About 4 months ago my car got in a nasty accident, to keep it simple all the front body parts had to be replaced. The only thing under the hood replaced was my lid and power steering pump and front support parts. Now I've had my car back for about 2 months and yesterday my alt goes out. I don't think alot of it untill I pull the old one out and its absolutly filthy just covered in sticky grimy dirt. This is obviously from when p/s fluid went everywhere and most probably went down right onto the alt.
So my question is what are the chances I can get the insurance company to remiburse me for my alt. In my opinion the alt going out is directly related to the accident.

Depends on the insurance company. Is it your company, another persons company? Which company is it?
I know my insurance has a 100% lifetime guareentee on the repairs of you car. Meaning if they fixed it wrong (and wrong would be not fixing it in the first place) then it would be covered.
Good luck!

Alternator? Are you kidding?
I'd be concerned with the title status and carfax report now.

how much is an alternator with core return at your local parts store bro? i understand how if it'd be covered you wouldnt mind gettin a new free alternator, but it isnt really that expensive a part and sometimes going through insurance over shit like that is more aggravation then its worth?

$160 on something that should have been replaced to begin with so no I'm not kidding.
I plan on keeping the car for a long time so the title/carfax means nothing to me. Not to mention these car are loosing thousands of dollars in value every year and by 09 the value will be close to nothing maybe a couple thousand unless they are in absoulte mint condition and low miles. Most decent ls1 around here are going for under 9k and that a nice ls1 for 9k. Anything that is high milage or rough around the edges there 6-7k.
This is also with my insurance company. They have been great so far no problems at all.

Exactly what I was thinking. I also have to bring the car back to the body shop hopefully this week to get the whole car buffed and a few minor things fixed. I think i am going to bring this up with them first since I still owe them $200 for some extra stuff they did. They already cut $200 off because of how long it took to do the car so maybe I can get them to eith cut all of it off or the $150 for the alt. If that does't work I'm gonna call the insurance and see what happens.
