Rear Seat Delete
I've removed my rear seats but i want to do a box like this http://www.speedspecialty.com/store/...duct=rrseatcvr
Now i want them to be as light as possible, should i use MDF or will Plywood be strong enough?

For no more than the kit cost I would just order it from them.

So your Recommending MDF. I accually have some still laying around from my blazers sub box and my monte carlos Sub box.. Pretty sure Homedepot has 3x4 sheets of 3/4" MDF for 4 or 5 dollars. Its been a few months since i bought some. I assume i can get away with some 1/2 for this appication though.

MDF is good stuff. Just make sure you build it to hold up. I would recommend using maybe 1x1's in the corners to give more support and give you something good to screw into. 1/2 would probably work, but 3/4 would give just a bit more strength in case you needed to put someone back there for a short trip.

LoL, I have this delete kit, with ported holes & the hatch tops... They re-enforced alot of it as well as the holes having metal sleeves around them. PITA's to put on, but I like em alot, they weigh 15lbs and I can store whatever inside em so it's not waisted space.

I got the carpet from walmart. It doesnt match but it works for now. I plan on swapping my car over to some Black Carpet later on anways. They are strong enough for me to sit on and probly only weight 10 pounds together. They are held by 1 13mm bolt at the bottom, might make a quick release for them later so i can store shit under them.

Maybe its just me, but ive never really seen the point of these things. I mean sure, if i would convert my interior from cloth seats to leather and didnt want to buy leather for the back then i would consider it, otherwise I just dont see why I would. Maybe for a killer soundsystem or something too

i'm going to be building a fiberglass seat delete for my sub/amps (think Corvette/300ZX style delete...not like these)...but its not going to look fiberglass; i'm going to cover it in carpet (doing fiberglass so it's lightweight )
been meanin to do this for a while now, but my fiberglass friend and i have yet to have time to get going on it..
