anyone know what this tool is?
a coworker found this at a flea market but dont know what it is...anyone?
The blade flips out and is a loose fit. It does not lock. It is not razor sharp, rather dull and crude in manufacturing.

i found out what it is...its a cork borer sharpener.....https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...Do_g8AT567znBw
it is used in laboratories to sharpen the cork borers for boring out rubber stoppers. You put the pointed end of the sharpener on the business end of the boring tool, then you pull the blade down and twist with a little pressure and there you have it.

I thought it was for castrating sheep. The pointed end, of course, when slipped in surprises the hell out of the sheep and when it jumps up out of fright the blade cuts off the nuts. It's definitely used for volume castration where one cowpoke is working alone. Make sure you give that tool a steam cleaning prior to using it in your kitchen. Always glad to solve these hard to identify questions.
