I used to DD my car with the cutout open all the time, real deep at 2000 RPMs and than badass all the way up to WOT. This was WO headers though. IT will also net you a few ponies the rear wheels.

Cutout is a cheap way to go until you save up for some LTs and a good flowing CB. Pacesetters are popular for their price, they can be had for around $500 or so with ORY. A cutout sounds pretty decent on stock manifolds and should get you anywhere from 6-12 hp up top in the powerband.

it's loud when wide open. good thing about the electric version is the ability to change the volume to what you want at that time. had one once.

The only problem with getting a cutout now, is that the stock pipes are smaller in diameter than aftermarket ones. So, if you get headers or full exhaust later, you'll have to get a new cutout to match the pipes.
