Does anyone have the Beats HP laptop

I am on the market for a new laptop. Up untill recently I was dead set on a mac pro, but as I did more research I found I can build a much better machine for the same price. I am really skeptical about the processor. Do you think te i7 is worth the extra $$ over the i7?? I really liked the featues and benefits of the machine but is it worth $1100?? I am buying this as a birthday gift to myself (and because I made the Deans list this semester) so I want to treat myself.

i'd check out new egg and tiger direct... you can get even better for far cheaper...

I'd also check New Egg and Tiger Direct. I use Tiger Direct often.

As far as the Evny Beats, you're paying for the audio and outer shell design as far as I can tell. You can get a faster laptop for far cheaper like spaz said

But is it a good laptop? Do you think the i5 480 w/ turbo boost is fast enough with 6gb memory or should I shell out a little extra for the i7 quad quore with 8gb? I am going to use it for downloading music and gaming now and then along with my schoolwork. I want to be able to multi task and run multiple apps w/o slowing down.

If you can afford to upgrade to the 8gb and the i7, I'd do that

A year from now, you'll be glad you did.

There was a time when I had swore off HP anything. But, I have to say that the HP laptop I'm using right now, was the top of the line custom build Pavilion 9500t series, bought back in 07 and it's been worth every penny. I've only replaced the screen and the keyboard and I've put a ton of hours on this thing. Daily. Sun up to after dark. It may be a little out dated now, but still faster and more reliable then any I've ever had. Going on 4 years of faithful service and I predict a few more

I went with the i5 480 w/ 6gb memory. I can always increase the memory if needed but I think the processor is ok for what I need. I will not be doing major edditing or CAD, just download music and play around with. It should be here monday with my studio headphones!!!
