Timing
Hey guys its been awhile since i have posted on here. i have a quick question. i was cruising on the freeway with my predator plugged in and i noticed my timing seems a bit high? cruising in 5th gear at 2300 rpms my timing was +40. is that high? at idle it bounces between 18-23 degrees according to the predator. i did a WOT run in 5th gear and timing retarded to +20 degrees. my engine is stock except a K&N, ported TB, ported/de-screened MAF, 160 degree thermostat and dynotune. and the plugs are TR6's. im curious if it could be my MAF? thanks!

no.....that's normal. Depending on where you were on the spark table (g/cyl vs rpm) it should probably be in the 38-40 range. WOT, again depending on where you're at on the table, should be in the 19-23 range.

here's what the table looks like for an 01. Granted...this is an a4 car but it'll give you an idea of what your spark should look like. Notice in the 2400 rpm range ( columns) at lower g/cyl (rows) how the spark is in the 40 range roughly. Also....WOT will be anything above about .60 g/cyl and 3600rpm.
