Good question. Not sure what holds them in place, but if I ever get around to swapping out my roof panel I'll need to know.

im pretty sure they just stick on with 3M tape...you could always get covers for them, like this EMBLEMPROS.COM - GM LICENSED AND CUSTOM VEHICLE EMBLEMS - 1993 - 2002 TRANS AM SAIL PANELS (REMOVE TRANS AM OPTION) Black Mirror Stainless - ONYX ...if you would like them plain, without a design, they can do that for you too

they are hold by a very strong double sided tape. They are not easy to remove and can get damage easy even if you take your time. I have removed 4 of them in the past and I only saved 1. I will suggest the aftermarket covers or get you new OEM ones and then you don't have to worry about the old ones breaking.

Maybe warm them up with a heat gun. That would allow the adhesive to release. Just have to be careful you don't cook your paint.

Get some Plastic-X compound from the auto parts store and use a buffer.

He's telling you to buff your existing pieces to make them look nice again.
Boost gets you laid, unless your name is Jon.
