some basic mods
What are the best basic mods that wont cost an arm and a leg that i can do to my car's engine for some more hp? Looking for some cosmetic changes under the hood as well for some car shows that are coming up.
Thanks in advance.

Volant claims 11hp, and the others claim about 6-8...so if you trust Volant's #'s, and if you want something that looks different than what everyone else has, and that looks pretty bithcin, then get it. I have that same CAI and I love it!!! Obviously better than stock, but I've never had a lid, so don't know if it's gonna be better.

I have it too, love it! It costs more than a lid, but after you'd buy a lid and a CAI kit for it it would be close to the same anyway (priced as new). It is a sealed ram air box for a nice CAI setup, really feels good on the car.

That does look pretty bitching, I'm wanting to get about 350 HP out of the car at least, and if that gives me 11 i'll be around 336hp before I go dyno tune it after all the mods are done.
so I asume if you do this CAI you don't need a lid because thats basically what this is correct?

It comes with a grommet to hook that sensor up to the Volant box, nothing is left unhooked from your original setup. If your aftermarket hood is taller by chance, you can take some copper pipe insulation and make the box's gasket higher to fit better. You can get that stuff at lowes or home depot for like 3 bucks for 6 ft of it.

You do know that jsut cause you are a WS6 doenst mean you ahve 325hp at the cran kfrom factory. The ls1s all made 350hp, they were just rated lower than the vettes cause GM can have the vette having the same hp as the f-bodys. The non ws6 Trans am also made 350hp, so your startign at your goal you already make 350hp.

You can find loom at Home Depot, Lowls etc....and the best looking lid I can think of is the MTI clear lid then get a decal from Edecals.com or where ever saying like trans am and put it on it and it looks amazing ! as for thoes mirrors where can you find them, I ll check afterthought after posting this....
