I think that is one moniker that GM should leave alone. Especially after seeing the pics. I don't have a problem with the retro look of today's Camaros, Mustangs, Challengers and such. But that damn thing would be a disgrace to the GN's heritage imo.

Am I surprised that they are doing this? Not really. If you have been keeping up on Buicks reinvention the last year or so you will see that they are really pushing turbo based Opel cars redesigned for the US. So bringing back the GNX monicker would only make sense to the "car guys" at GM. Do i think its right or a good idea? No they should leave it dead. While the new GTOs where great cars they had nothing looks wise in common with the old ones and i think that really hurt the GTO namesake and this could have the same effect with the GNX name.

GM is'nt as bad as Chrysler. They tried to bring back everything that was cool in the 70's by turning them into decal kits on Chargers and trucks. I'm waiting for them to release the "Roadrunner Challenger" package

When considering resurrecting classic powerful names like GTO, or GNX, they should take more intrest at the impact it could have, and where the car stood then. The old gn looked menacing, strong, like it meant business. I look at that thing they're trying to put the gn name on, and i think of care bears...someone should make a picture comparo of cars that theyve resurrected, and compare them...challenger, charger, gto. even to go as far as thunderbird, and the bel air concept they had a few years ago. I heard about the article a year ago, and i thought it was crap....still do
