Something isn't right with my clutch
When I am stopped and go to put it in first gear, I can hear a small clunk in my driveline (prob the rear end). It seems like my clutch isn't fully disengaging?? This is with the pedal to the floor. First gear seems maybe a touch tough to get into, maybe its just in my mind. But it really feels like the clutch is still grabbing slightly..
I just bought this car last week (30th ann. # 609)and it was supposed to have a new OEM clutch installed last year with very min. miles since the install..
Where do I start?! I honestly have no experiences with clutches.
BTW this is my 2nd Ls1 ws6, glad to be back!Last edited by Hodge98ws6; 05-22-2008 at 05:33 PM.

if the clutch is definitely new i would give it a good bleed and check out the hydraulics...does the pedal feel soft or ever have trouble coming back up?...ive had the same problem and it was cuz my master cylinder was junk, it was losing pressure and not allowing the clutch to fully disengage...but i would start with bleeding the system cuz that can do wonders sometimes and there is a sticky on here on how to do it i believe...also check if your clutch fluid is black or darker colored than normal

Thanks for the tips.. The pedal is firm, but has no issues with sticking or feeling soft.. Actually it is almost too firm.. The fluid did seem a little dirty. I'll flush it out and refill with fresh fluid. I'll search for the sticky.
Thanks,I hope its as simple as that.

if the clutch fluid is dirty then it will a darker thicker color. normal color change is common and safe. Ive been running dark Hydrolic Fluid on my PTO for months and the only time I Re-fill it is because it had a leak somewhere on the system.
