1999 Formula WS6 M6-sold- 2001 Silverado Z71
Awesome vid. I'd take the CTS-V anyday. I got to drive one when it first came off the truck a few months ago. Unfortunately it just snowed that day so it was a worthless test drive. Some guy bought it and had it flatbedded out because he doesn't wanna put any miles on it and most likely won't ever really drive it. What a damn shame, huh?

Fantastic video. I find it hard to believe that they said the handling was ,more refined in the M5 however.

The new CTS-V just looks bad ass. Its still a GM car, so the quality cant stand up 100% with BMW or Mercedes. But all the test prove performance wise that the Caddy is the best. I love the recaro seats and the outstanding handling/braking. And what is better than a sedan ''fastest production sedan in the world'' with all the high tech looks, comfort. And that 6.2 Supercharged engine? Only negative is that the damn wheels are super hard to keep clean. I blame brembo.

I've worked on BMW's for years. Trust me , when you start beatin' on those cars they turn into a heaping pile of shit in a real big hurry. BMW's are no where near as good as their marketing propiganda(?) is. They do a nice job on there spring/shock combo and the rest of it is plastic cliped together piece of crap.

Not a huge can of the CTS-V styling, but man that thing flies. Give me a M5 any day though!

I drove another 2009 CTS-V the other day. It was a little rainy of course so the tires didn't grip well on the short blast I gave it. Felt pretty strong though!!

I wanted to sit in a V at the NY Auto Show. Couldn't. I have a feeling it's a hit. Bad ass lookin car. I'd take one in man pedal.

I seriously considered, and still am thinking of trading in my DD for a CTS-V in the near future when this economy settles down a bit. I sat in a 2009 with the Recaro's. The sales rep told me that GM had a problem with the supplier of the seats, NOT Recaro themselves, and that they will no longer be able to get CTS-V's with Recaro seats.
If that's true or not I don't know, but they are nice seats. I was surprised though at how narrow the tires were (in person) for such a high performance sedan, and you'll notice just how much the tires were at their limit in that video.
I know GM is not going to throw 325's on like my Z06 but they could have gone a bit wider in my opinion with that much torque available on tap.

Yea.. traction is a BIG problem off the line with the new V. Those 285's out back just dont do it. But the Recaro seats are very nice. We are about to put the car up for sale. Cause apparently.. someone wants to buy a Zr1...
