302 horsepower / 305 ft/lbs of torque.
Pretty stout when compared to ford's 4.6.

Yea ford 4.6 needs an update... like a big one. I have never been a fan of these mod motors. I have an 07 tundra with the 4.7 and 5 speed auto that works good for towing my boat but it was a lease and I have to turn it in this April. I would just hate to have to do any internal repairs to a mod motor Been thinking of doing an older truck with a good head and cam 350 but the power and milage of these newer Chevy motors makes me think twice.

prolly just grill guard and step bars other then that leave it the way it is, it has a 5 year or 100k mile power train, so its staying how it is right now.

Dont the 4.8's get worse mileage than the 5.3 in real world applications tho? Definately a sexy truck good job doing your part to bring GM outta the shitter, lol.

Depending on how much the 5.3's is more, I would have opted for it... Gets the same gas mileage from what I seen. Nice truck, how much it set you back? First new vehicle?
