Does a new fuel pump mean a new fuel filter too?
I bought my 1998 LS1 back in June (56k miles on it) and the guy installed an aftermarket fuel pump in the car. I was wondering what are the chances he replaced the fuel filter too? Is this a common thing? I was just wondering about when I should change out my fuel filter. I keep hearing about how it is a 50k mile maintenance must... Now I'm paranoid I'm driving around losing HP due to a clogged fuel filter.. Any thoughts?

If you don;t know, change it out. Its cheap insurance.

i think its 15 bucks and takes about 5 minutes to do, id say he changed it, but just change it anyway, or take yours off and just see how it is, its on the drivers side right by the seat or right behind the seat if i remember correctly

anytime you buy a used car from someone it's always a good idea to do all the maintenance stuff right then whether it needs it or not. That way you have a starting point for things from then on. I would personally do all the fluids and filters.
