Gas out here in Norfolk is around 2.35-2.45 for premium. It has gone up like 20 cents in the last week

And isn't it funny how they say that there's no mark up in the gas prices, that it's all basic cost of the oil and process. Funny how that gas 30 miles away takes so much less processing and less delivery costs and less oil costs and all that.

It is like this ALL THE TIME! Gas up here is $0.60/gal more all the time. That's what I don't understand. I can understand price fluctuations and stuff like that but come on, 30 miles down the road it's THAT much cheaper?

That's rediculous, you could drive 60 miles (there and back) and save money on a tank of gas

I assume Lake Tahoe is an area with a lot of money. So that is probably why they charge that much. I know the mountain communities in Colorado do the same thing, because they figure if you can afford to live there, you can afford to pay more for gas.

yeah there are people here with a lot of money but come on, somebody has to work in a kitchen to cook, somebody has to work in Kmart, somebody has to work in casinos so the rich people could eat out, shop, gamble. And the minimum wage here is as low as in all California. So basically judging by the logic behind the big gas prices all the people that do not have money should NOT live there and commute 30 miles to work?

i don't get it, really, why are we still paying so much for gas? asside from the fact that no one has told oil companies to cut prices after all of their record profiting...

Actually Gas Prices can only be a certain amount over what the gas station pays for it. I believe they can only charge between 10-15 cents more than they pay and only .05 cents less than they pay, to avoid gouging and price fixing between stations. So your bigger company's like Texaco and BP should have lower priced gas than Quicktrip and Marathon

Black- HSV 04'
That's still cheap guys. Here in good old 'Oz' it's about $1.30 a litre for premium.
That's about $5.72 (AUD) a gallon! which is around $3.50 US Dollars (USD)
And our fuel is relatively cheap next to most of Asia and Europe.
Japan pays around $3.90 (USD) to fill their Toyotas and Nissans.
But wait until you look at Europe...............!
About $6.80 (USD) a gallon in England and around $6.40 (USD) in Italy.
How about the Netherlands?
They pay about $7.75 a gallon (USD) for their fuel.
That's about $155.00 USD to fill an average 20 gallon ( 88 litre) tank!!!!
And you wonder why these guys all drive around in 1.2 litre 4 cylinder cars????
