Spun first, missed second, spun second, missed third, missed 4th. He did improved on his next pass, he ran a 14 something frying all the way through first and second. It shows that the majority of people out there can not drive. I got that car to run a 12 first time ever driving it.
It was funny watching my mid 13 second stang put bus lengths on him :P.

I think the only thing I'd need to learn is how to launch the car.

Not exactly sure which I should get. I get confused when they shorter pole. Does that actually count as a shorter shift or just shorter pole?

I personally like the hurst shifters the best.
But B&M and Pro 5.0 are pretty good too.

Shortening the pole does not count as shortening the throw.. Its all in the base of the shifter and how they have the pivot point set up. Thats why when you order a short throw shifter, they dont just send you a stick.. In many cases you can use the stock pole with the new base.

I know that my 01 SS put 320rwhp down bone stock (It did come with an SLP exhaust, which wasn't too special) which was translated to 380hp which was calculated as a 16% loss through the drivetrain. Since that is how the tune shop did it, I would assume 16 percent loss for 6spd camaro. Every car is different, mustangs may lose more or less than a camaro, and an auto will have a different number than a manual.

As a note, I loove my ls1, but I'm pretty equal to my love of my old LT1. Don't underestimate that thing. The low end is mean, however the ls1 definitely takes it cause of all that top end.

Gears will wake that sucker up BIG TIME!! Trust me. The stock 3.27 gears do no justice to that car since it begins making power from about 4000-rpm to it's stock 6850-rpm redline. A friend of mine John at 'Sacramento Mustangs' dropped almost four-tenths from a gear swap on a '97 Cobra. Wen't from 14.0 to 13.68 by just going to a 4.30 swap, nothing else.
