    Even with headers you wouldn't.

One cutout after the y-pipe would be great for you.

if u have an aftermarket exhaust that flows well, dont cutouts reduce power? (backpressure)

    im a noob...

noob at the university of life... 16 young'un it's ok we never stop learning.
cutouts is a good think plus makes the whole exhaust sound loud. less exhaust restriction is always good.
running open headers eliminates exhaust backpressure and helps in more power and better 1/4mi times.

well thats what i thought. less exhaust restriction the better...
then y do ppl tell u that ur sacrificing backpressure and could hurt performance by removing cats, etc

but that is never the case... amount of airflow and lower air temperatures are 2 things that makes more power... forced induction (s/c, turbo), and NOS work on that basis... more air, and colder air is more power... backpressure, hot incoming air, and air restriction works against power and performance. always...

No way. I bet you would be 3 to 4 tenths slower with open headers....with most cars.

    Madcity...I got the ProKit springs.

it can't be, less weight 60lbs at least and less backpressure.

60 pounds would be good for .06 seconds....roughly.
You lose AT LEAST that much running open headers.

Backpressure is a good thing...to a point. Open headers on a mostly stock car will lose power.
It might make a touch more power....but not until damn near redline. You would lose the power under the curve thus lowering the ET's.

You and I can gain from it. More cam, more cubes, more compression.
But I can prove it even on my car that with my cutouts open, I lost power under 4200 RPM's.
