fyi, for whatever reason bassani says theirs will not fit a 1999 nor do they make one
I assume the difference is in the cat's configuration...? I wanted this because we have no really good shops in my area that do this type of custom work...

Todd

The 00-02 cats are different than the 98-99s. Mrr23 had an exhaust shop fab up the connection. Shouldn't be a big deal. It's only where it bolts to the cats, the rest is the same. If you intended to have someone else do the install, then their install price probably wouldn't be affected. Some people have swapped to the 00-02 cats. I'd just get a fabbed connector. Any shop can do that. The rest of the system is what you're really buying anyway (2.5 TD overaxle w/x-pipe and 3" dual exit slash tips).

I've got GMMG true's on mine with straight pipes all the way to the axle then mandrel bent and out the back! I put down 313/337 but that was at 11.2 AFR, the fella's at JBA said I'd easily pick up 15rwhp or more with the right mixture and I definitely feels like I got that or more since I used my data log tables and had it retuned.

I have read just about all this thread, and I am still unsure which to go with for my setup. Seems like true duals are louder and a y pipe with a cut out will make more power. Whats the difference between y pipe w/ cutout and TD with two cutouts? I want it noticably loud, but creating power at the same time. Im open to any suggestions.

For the most part, dual cutouts will not make more power.
Duals > y-pipe for power.
If the duals are done correctly, they are worth 15-20RWHP over a y-pipe setup.2008 Trailblazer SS

I am realy considering Pacesetters or SS Chrome auto headers. Then either a Y to single all the way with a cutout. Or Headers to X pipe. Just not sure yet. I do have to have cats though.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
I have QTP LT's into a 2-1/2" system which consists of an X-pipe into Magnaflow mufflers dumped at the axle. It's not too loud and it feels stronger than what I had before.

I agree. Especially since we do not have much clearance to work with. Although, tests have shown that dual cut-outs directly after an X-pipe will make more power than if they were before. But, that aside, this is not practical with our cars unless you wanna drag your exhaust everywhere!

Ha!
Well, you are right, but that's unless you have as much power as you do!
