2016 Camaro SS - Summit- 2001 Trans Am WS6 - NBM
She's got some getup. The only thing I don't like, and I've read this to be a common problem with the G6, is the steering wheel pops...it almost sounds like the knuckle hits the body. Definitely not a bad suspension piece type of noise.

Not sure if 3900 means 3.9L or not, but mine is a 3.6 VVT, rated at 252hp. Maybe it makes a difference being a 2008? And its the sedan, not the street edition. We both hated that ugly batwing on the back. Wouldn't mind the Hood though. I'll throw a pic up in a bit. She took her mom for a ride.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I got my numbers mixed up. The GTP had the 3900 and was rated at 240. The GXP was rated at 252 and was a 3.6 VVT.

It's all good. I knew mostly nothing about these cars until we started shopping.

Black- 99 WS.6 - Modified
Had some friends over, did some shooting, went to the gun shop and did some browsing, tried out my new auto-darkening welding helmet, ran the car up to operating temp. for a bit, and played with the kids. Overall, a pretty decent day.

Intermediate shaft. Not bad to replace. Not super cheap though. Get ready to replace brakes every 25 - 30K. 3.6s also have a tendency to suck oil down the throttle body in the bigger cars. Hadn't seen much in the Z bodies though. They do like to stretch timing chains if you get behind on oil changes or the keeping on the oil leaks from the timing cover or front crank seal.

Up til the point the block cracks and they start sucking coolant.

Hey they weren't THAT bad!!

Never seen one with a cracked block, they just had intake gasket issues because people think coolant lasts forever and won't break down and start eating away at the gasket. And if that went untreated, it moved to overheating and destroying head gaskets or even warping heads.Last edited by konigandy6; 03-03-2012 at 07:20 PM.

Oil pan gasket has been changed out and the K-member is in the car. Still have lots to do...
Dan -- we stopped at Beaver Motors on the way home yesterday so another friend could look at a truck and I found that the G8 is still on the lot. I thought it was sold, but they simply moved it off to the side were it isn't easily spotted from the road.

Too bad a modern RWD car isn't in my future. I'd look too..but again, if I had the money I'd probably hold out for a GXP.

I'd have to go back and look at the pics I took of it a few months ago... can't remember.
