Boner...you decided what you plan to do on fixing your car yet? any way you can do some of the body work (ie: replace fenders, etc.) to cash some money?

boner has a busted tranny, i have busted fenders. LOL. but i think i'm turning it into insurance. Too much money to pay out at once, may aswell use the insurance-that's why i have it.

Have you already talked to the insurance company? They may give you a hard time cause it has been so long.

Looking for your opinion.
The wife and I are thinking of getting rid of the mini-van for a new Dodge Magnum (more than likely not a hemi). Although the wife likes mini-vans (don't ask me why) we still need a large enough vehicle for us and our 2 kids. I don't want to go SUV -- too big for wife to drive everyday and fuel efficiency isn't where I want it to be.
Thoughts, concerns??

talked to them a few times and they said its ok to turn it in late. It's ok for me to find my own shop. They will look at the car multiple times b/c usually the initial coverage is lower than the body shop estimate. They low ball at first b/c most frame damage is invisable until the shop calls and says "we took off a fender, there is frame damage, come look and re-estimate" then they finally meet the same quote. None the less, they pay out everything.
