I've looked at this thread from time to time and it's been pretty civil.... till now. Just appreciate it for what it is. Some dude's car that can run in the 11's. Good for him. Let him enjoy it. I saw a SOM WS6 last saturday that runs 11's too. in fact i think it was around 11.7's given the choice? I'd take the SOM WS6 even though i prefer to row my own and this was an auto.

We have no way of knowing if the car truly is stock. even though the boss JUST came out the current gen stang has been around for almost 6 years now and the 5.0 is what? like a year old? gotta be some parts for it. Unless there is a build sheet or something let's all at least agree that someone out there is driving a fast car. There's no point in arguing what's done to it because none of us own it.

Bottom line? Take your F-body out to an open road. introduce the skinny pedal to the firewall and enjoy the silly ass smile that's on your face!

on a road coarse the BOSS is only 2 seconds faster than a regular GT and Steeda already has a kit with BOSS intake ..
best way to go is get a GT and mod it ...

I was agreeing with you, I find it interesting. I knew the pot would get stirred with all these different types of Mustangs. Ford has always had 19 trillion different models, my trip down to the Ford dealer the other day proved it

Well the BOSS is the only one with a real difference in the engine .. but it is made for long high rpm runs , not 12 second burst .. So not real any 1/4 mile time improvements ...

Well on a roadcourse a couple seconds is a big deal. Like a 15 sec v6 and a 13 sec GT isn't that HUGE of a difference, but 12 sec car to an 10 sec car is.

Do you know how significant 2 whole seconds is in race time though?

it depends on which race you are talking about .. In road coarse it may just be better shifts and different breaking , which is what the BOSS was made to do.. On a straight line.. I think I could find it with the $10k I would save over a BOSS

Its my interpretation that this new boss is designed to show off how well Ford can make these mustangs handle and lets face it, itll end up being a collector car. These cars DO run fast 1/4 mile though. They did do a good amount of things to the engines and the engines ARE stronger then the stock 5.0 coyote. IF straightline speed is all someone cares about then, then sure, mod a regular GT. I just think the guys that are gonna buy the Boss are middle aged dudes with money to burn.

Here is one for you .. IF.. Ford does come out with a eco-boost Mustang.. and it makes 365hp like it does in the Taurus ... should it be called a GT ???
