Please try to find a place to race that DOESN'T have traffic around.
Being stupid doesn't make you any bigger or faster. It just makes you stupid(er).

Well we kinda thought about it and figured out that, this was gonna be the highway with less traffic

"Kinda thought about it"? Did you "kinda think about" the minivan you passed and the other guy had to go around....while racing on the highway?
"Kind of thinking about it" (or claiming to) doesn't make it any less stupid. Hopefully you'll get through your adolescence without killing somebody.

Ya, y r u so negative u sound like my mom. Just cuz I'm in high school doesn't mean I can't drive I guess you could think street racing isn't safe in general but don't bash about me racing when no one got hurt this time. all u had to say was good job b careful around areas with other people. It would have been the end of it. Not tryin to be an ass or a smart ass.

I somewhat agree. Street racing is never really safe, but people still do it. Of course we all know the risks, and this thread has gone on for a while without anyone mentioning the safety aspect of the situation until after it was done. Congratulations on your kill, and watch out for your safety and more importantly the safety of others.

Maybe you're Mom is onto something?
Just cuz I'm in high school doesn't mean I can't drive
Regardless....even as old as I am, street racing with other cars around is STUPID.
Your Mom would likely agree. Smart lady.
I guess you could think street racing isn't safe in general but don't bash about me racing when no one got hurt this time.

It would have been the end of it. Not tryin to be an ass or a smart ass.
Racing in traffic - ie....with other cars around...is STUPID. As a kid, doing such only increases the general public's perception of kids doing STUPID things in cars - especially performance cars. You add just a little bit more to that image of youngsters being idiots behind the wheel.
And of course, you're invincible, and nothing will ever happen to you (nor anybody around you).
Congratulations.

The ultimate in stupidity is knowing that something is stupid, yet doing it anyway. Wow.
Stick around...you *might* hear a little bit like this when you or others do STUPID things like what is portrayed in that video.
Have a safe day.

No such thing as cheating because of what gear you start in. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard - like saying he cheated cause his car was faster - don't make no sense. If the other guy doesn't do it then it's his inexperience that caused him to lose - a lesson to be learned. Or maybe he was worried his car couldn't handle it.It's not how fast you can go. It's how fast you can get there.

Totally agree. Haven't watch the video yet (about to in a sec), but sounds to me like it's gearing. In my old LS1/T56 I ran a juiced '03 GT w/ 3.73s and he was persistent about running me on a 40mph roll. I told him 40 was too much for first and not quite enough for 2nd but that I would do it. He raped me on the first run (put about a car between me and him as I was going into 3rd), and then didn't want to run me after that. Since he was undoubtedly the faster car, I took the loss but man you should've heard him and his "crew" when we got back to the meeting spot
My point? If you're going from a roll, ask to start at a given MPH where your "sweet spot" would be, and the ask if he has a preference where he would like to go... no excuses

Ok, I just watch that video and DAMN! I don't even know what to say. You guys couldn't have picked a better spot and perhaps done it at night? What if the race had been a little closer, and the person in the minivan was not paying close attention and decided to change lanes? Not trying to lecture, but... DAMN!
I can't talk too much, I've done PLENTY of street racing in a few years back, but almost 90% was at night, and the others were down 4 lane roads around farms. All of those situations, there were NEVER any cars in sight. I understand your situation of location but if that's the best you guys can do, save it for the strip, really! It's not worth the damage of vehicles and more importantly the loss of your life and others
Anywaysdid the mustang miss a gear? Looked like a '94-'98, and we all know it takes a bit of money to make the '96-'98s run, but that was a helluva beating... then again, did he decide to call it quits right after it got started because he wanted to play it safe after seeing the minivan? Seriously, just wondering...
