its only the last 2' of your exhaust that you changed. like a lot of ricers its a muffler and a crome tip.

just do what my granpa always did with his 454, start it up 15-20 min before you want to use it. let it warm up before you put any stress on it, that makes a lot more difference than people think. if you gona keep it or call it yours, take care of it like a woman. let here put her makeup on before you go out, so plan an extra 20 for her.

I always fire and go...keeping it under 2000.
It runs fine...just doesn't hold idle as well when cold.

you do live in co. so you should let it heat up first. thats what ive always been told. never drive a cold motor. even in the summer i let it run before i drive it.
