Try this kid on for size. Dylan Elise from the National Jazz festival in New Zeland from 1 year ago. He does some of the most amazing things I've seen in a while with his sticks. 1st part is with brushes but don't let that put you off. He kicks major ass starting around 5 minutes in. Around 8 minutes in he starts twirling tricks and technique that you'd associate with drum corps playing. Simply amazing and my choice for one of the best yet put up here.

Here are some less-known drummers that I've seen live and were amazing:
    Matt McDonough-Mudvayne
    Rod Morganstien- (don't laugh) Winger
    Igor Calavera- Sepultura
    Ingo Schwictenburg- Helloween
Mike "Puffy" Bordin- Faith No More/Ozzy
    Nick Menza- Megadeth
    Nico McBrain- Iron Maiden
I'll be honest with you. The drum set I bought back in 95 is a Signia kit which Rod Morganstien designed for Premier. Rock Maple with bearing edges set in from the head and nothing sticking inside of the air column (rim mount system). Only other kits like that back then were from from DW. It features a 22 x 18 bass drum. Also a 10 x 8, 13 x 12, 14 x 13 shell mounts and 16 x 16 floor tom. I use a Black Beauty snare for my main snare.

Morganstien is no joke, too bad about the Winger stigma.
More good unmentioned (I think) drummers:
    Steve Gadd
    Greg Bisonette
    Carter Beauford
    Michael Giles

Back in the 70's everyone considered Neil P to be the best-and I agree he was damn good but drumming has evolved and Neil is now considered a primate. John Longstreth of Origin is a machine no doubt. Steve Asheim of Deicide is another really great drummer IMO Tim Yeung of Vital Remains and so many more. There are so many great drummers right now it is impossible to even make a list of top 10 or top 20. I have alot of respect for alot of different drummers with many different styles but I will say this:
*Lars Ulrich- the enegizer bunny has better chops
    *Joey Jordison- super over rated
*Travis Barker-takes it in the ass
Sickdrummer.com has some of the best drummers from every genre around.
Meinlcymbals.com has alot of great drumming videos.

Went to High School with Greg B. and my brother in-law took drum lessons from him. Not only is Greg an awesome percussionist, he was awesome on the trumpet as well.

You guys don't even mention Rick Allen??? The guy crashes his corvette and loses his arm, then later goes on to release one of the greatest songs ever (Pour some sugar on me). I mean, ONE ARM! Tell peart to try it one armed, he would suck. Rick is the greatest ever.

If "Pour Some Sugar on Me" is one of the greatest songs ever then I must be very confused. If Rick Allen is one of the greatest drummers ever then I must be very, very confused.

"I am hot. sticky sweet. from my head. to my feet-yeahhhhhhh"

During VH1's Top 100 Greatest songs of the 80's, Pour some sugar on me came in #2, the results were decided via an online poll. So according to the masses, you don't know shit. Music is an art, you are no qualified critic, so go listen to your hick ass red neck country oh my fucking dog left me now who do I have sex with bullshit songs.

Yeah seen them with Alex Marquez back in the day. He blew my mind. Also met Dave Culross. He stayed in the same hotel when we went to the Milwaukee Metal Fest back in like 94. Really cool guy, really into drumming. Beast live.

Admit Def Leppard rule or you don't rock. It's as simple as that. At your age the only thing you should be rocking out to is Barry Manilow...
