So? I've seen H/C/I F-bodies making well over 400rwhp run high 12s. I've seen 700rwhp Supras run mid 12s, and near 600rwhp Cobras run low 12s. All that proves is that the car is much more capable than the owner.

I know of a 5.0 owner up by you thats running mid 12s with an internally stock 5.0 engine and naturally aspirated, maybe your friend can hook up with him?

Good heads, valvetrain, intake, exhaust, clutch, gears and tires for a 5.0 can be had CHEAP.
    I concur.

I am a bit surprised this is being debated, to be honest.

i love mustangs.lol, but seriously i dont mind them. they sound really cool and i love the name COBRA. just the ahhhh factor. "its a Cobra" at least it's a V8
bash me if u will, but a 96-98 cobra is IMO one of the best bang for the buck packages out there. They can be had for as cheap as 7K

all the Cobra motors are DOHC... and are very good little motors .. they do need high revs to get really going though .. Have to watch out for oil blowby... they have a weird valve cover gasket and you can get oil in with the spark plug ... My 98 MarkVII had one .. just wish I could have had a 5 speed ...

yeah i just looked it up, cobras were dohc, i didnt remember if they were 96-2002.

i personally prefer 94-95 if your doing an sn95 cobra, they are slower though but a pushrod 302 is alot easier to work on than a dohc 4.6

See thats the thing about LS1 vs 4.6 or 302 .... those are good engines and go pretty fast, but are nothing compared to the LSx engines .. So to even have a chance its mod the hell out of one ... Which goes back why cant Ford put a non-SC Shelby engine in a GT......

look at the difference in the heads and cam in an ls1 and any factory ford motor and you will see why lsx's are so much faster

I loved both my gt and my cobra. They were better riding, better driving, MUCH easier to work on, and cheaper to mod than my trans am. I've only done springs, shocks/struts, and gears and im already fed up with GM engineering. When i did springs shocks and struts on my mustang it took me 2 hours. Its taken me a week on my trans am because the threaded part at the top of both struts snapped in two while trying to remove them, so i had to order new struts. On a 58k mile car with very very little wet driving. Not to mention i had to remove the master cylinder just to get to one bolt, which i had to buy a wrench for because of the damn torx. I once wanted a Corvette after my TA, but after working on it compared to my Ford-engineered mustangs, i'll save up for a Terminator.

    :end rant

I once had a Ford that the jack was engineered to fit under the vehicle only when the tires were fully inflated. It got a flat one day and the jack would not fit under it. Engineering idiots are on both sides.

Well i have a set of 1/2 inch shank torx bits and a 1 3/4 shank torx bits, plus a couple key sets, but they all only go to t45. Think of my dismay after realizing i have 5 sets that only go to one size too small.

Well, Supra's are a well known dino queen.

Other than that. If your seeing 600rwhp cars going 12's, more than likely they dont have the suspension to match. A decent driver with 600 rwhp will net you less than 12's in lower altidue setting's. Granted the suspension to match. I have no respect for most supra's. They can claim thier 700 cattle, but those cattle are some crippled ass disease ridden bitch's.
