The Corvette outperforms exotics double its price. In more than straight line performance....which is the only place the Viper gets them.
The C6Z06 is an 'exotic' without the pricetag.

I am not trying to tell you not to get the GT500. My opinion of those is basic though. Too much power to be where they are 1/4 mile ET wise. Weight is killer on those. Heavy ass cars.
And while this doesn't matter...I think they are ugly.

Oh yeah, $25 for a badge (not decal) is SO much money...

Fords quality sucks. There's not a Ford built in the last couple decades that I would even consider owning, other than a Ford GT and I really don't care for that one too much. It's cool, but I'd rather have a ZO6.

You wanna talk money? How fast could I make my car for the same amount of money? Hmmm... I paid $17,300 for my car. Let's say you can pick one up for $45k, that's a difference of $27,700. I could make my car "stupid fast" for that kind of money.

first off, lame beef, i could make my car this or that fast.
if you want to take an old car and mod it, have fun, been there done that and they are endless money pits.
with a Shelby ill have a low 12 second car STOCK. with a few minor mods, ill be in the 11s.
if you want to put in that much money in a nine year old car, thats youre problem.
GM and quality are not two words used together.

also the Shelby has a real good chance one day of being a collector car.
you cant say that about the plain jane 4th gen

Well Chuckle Nuts, you were the one that brought up money. You're the one that's willing to drop $45k or more for a Shelby emblem. You think it's gonna be collectable? Maybe, maybe not. I think only the older Muscle cars are gonna be the ones that just keep increasing in value. I don't think there's much built today that's gonna appreciate. Especially if you mod it! I can mod my car all I want and not worry about hurting its value.

You were the one that started this thread asking for opinions, I just gave you mine.

I think Fords are built like shit. They're not as bad as the new Chrysler products but, they're definitely not built well. I've been a mechanic for a long time and honestly if you want highest quality for the money, get a Honda. I just personally don't like Hondas, unless I was just gonna drive it back and forth to work.

the only thing i said about money is im not dropping 70k on a vette.
    45k is totally within budget.
while my formula is modded, i still have all the stock parts. i would do the same with the Shelby.
i didnt say the Shelby would be a collectable, i did say it had a good chance.
anything with Shelbys name is worth big $$$$$

i do agree with you that mopar is garbage

While the big block, overhead cams and four valves per cylinder contribute significantly to the 500-horsepower output of the 2007 Shelby GT500’s 5.4-liter V-8, a Roots-type supercharger and intercooler are the icing on the cake. Using the Ford GT as a blueprint, SVT has given the GT500 more total horsepower than any factory Mustang in the car’s celebrated history.

what else could a gearhead want
