the challenger and the Z06 are different cars tho...Challenger is meant for a straight line, Z06 is meant for track and handling more than the strip. My opinion anyway...

I disagree. One just happens to be better in the turns because it is smaller, made of lighter materials and therefore is lighter. They are production cars and it todays worst if you build a performance car it better to be able to go straight and take turns or your competition will be sure to tear you apart publically. The z06 would most likely take the challenger in a straight line as well with equal drivers.

Based on the SRT's that i've driven over the past few years they are no slouch in the corners...but only time will tell how this thing does in each category.

Apples to oranges. The Corvettes Vipers are two seat sports cars as opposed to the Challengers, Mustangs, Camaros, etc which are pony/muscle cars. Different categories. I don't expect it to beat the new Z06.

The big three all have factory drag cars. Now they will all have track cars. Its the 60's/70's all over. Will the 70's/80's with low power numbers be far behind?

bingo. it should be compared to the camaro and mustang more than anything...if it beats a Z06 for some reason it just makes it that much more badass.

    Hellcat vs. Z28 in 1/4 = Hellcat
Hellcat vs. Z28 doing anything else = Z28

It's a very cool era that we're in right now. All of the manufacturers are turning out some awesome stuff!

Well that has yet to be seen but that is most likely how it will be. I think the zl1 is a better comparison as the z28 is somewhat of a stripper car. It does still retain alot of comfort pieces though. Such as a radio.... even if it is a 1 speaker only system.

Yea lol. The z28 has almost no options. I think the only option is an upgraded traction control system. You can't get navigation or even a systems info screen. No back up or blind spot sensors like the ss and zl1.

+1, you could probably go for a beer cruise better in a Hellcat(cold beer in said cooled cup holder) compared to a Z28

I just read that the 2015 Hellcat will have 707hp and 650tq and it will weigh just under 4000lbs. sounds like a low 11 sec. car to me. Gee, I wonder if it will handle worth a damn.
My ride is a 2002 Camaro SS SLP #3296 with 30k, LTH, 3" Y, CME, Frost tune, K&N, ported TB, Blackwing lid, Bellows, MSD, Denso Iridium, and 85mm MAF, Bilsteins, Eibach springs, SLP strut brace, Adj. Panhard, TA Girdle, UMI, Pro 5.0, Nitto NT555
My wife has a 2004 GTO with the rare SAP, 18" wheels, K&N Cold Air System, MSD, Ported TB, Frost tune, Denso Iridium, Flowmaster cat-back, 3200 Yank, 75k

Based on the SRT's I've driven I'd say it's going to handle great. I'm going to road Atlanta at the end of the month to do the SRT experience with my dad. Get to drive all the SRT cars they make except the viper.
