I remember using pay phones, but it was 25 cents. Cell phones started to become popular right around the time I started to drive at 16. If your stance is that you need to be reached at ALL times you have issues. My cell phone gets turned on every so often and I check it to see if someone called or text me. Also, WTF am I going to do for someone in an emergency situation if I am only able to talk to them on the phone?

I live in BFE and get my internet from over 100 yards away and I have very limited access (wireless) and I have used it for school projects and I am talking only bewteen 10-20%. I would think the government could get a decent connection with the use of satellites. Hell, I know people who have that because they live in the boonies so saying that you cant use it in the desert is not a good excuse and I dont buy it.
