well I broke it off today. I cant deal with a girl who will continue to talk to her exs knowingly that it will destroy her "SERIOUS AND POTENTIAL VERY LONG TERM" relationship. I was gonna pop the question in about 6 months to a year as well. I guess she did not care about me enough.

Personally I think you lost out on a female that was honest and upfront with you. You've made yourself sound immature, insecure and irrational in this thread. If you don't trust someone that is honest and not going to let you control her sounds like you are in for a lot more trouble in your future relationships.

insecurity has nothing to do with this. these guys dont even live anywhere close to where we live. me and her were gonna move in together in 2 weeks but i cancelled the hold. it is her not respecting me. doing nothing for something that bothered me. oh by the way, it bothers her when i used to talk to my ex and i stopped it.

It goes both ways... my gf still talks to her ex that cheated on her for the last 6 months they were together. Then she gets back with him, is over in my bed 2-3 times a week and he's doing the same haha. But she was upset because of what he was doing, not that she did the same. And yeah it's all messed up believe me...

Sounds like my situation... only thing is she actually went back to the guy. Honestly I think you made the right choice. It's easy for me to say it, but I know what I got myself in to. And it's funny how you will do things for them, but god forbid you ask for the same.

The reality is that a man can be “just friends” with women, even if they happen to be an ex.

There are a few of my ex’s that I consider friends. When one has a mature relationship with someone that has reached a certain level of intimacy why is it so absurd to want to stay in touch with that person? If a girl I’m seeing is talking to an ex on the phone or even out for drinks to catch up, I generally do not have a problem with that. What do I have to be worried about (rhetorical question: when you roll like I roll there is nothing to be worried about, lol)

Don’t get me wrong, there are a few girls that I “dated” that I stay in touch with on the occasion that I happen to have a free night and am looking for female company.

This thread made me rethink everything with my gf and the bs that goes with it... shes been acting weird and saw her ex texted her and she acts all innocent. So today she told me shes just not sure it's going to work... so told her hit the road. I gave my advice and decided to take it too. I met another girl a month ago and she keeps messaging me to meet up with her, so good timing!

Now if you want me to talk about my ex-wife... We do not talk, we do not see each other, and I could care less if she fell off the side of the earth...
