Thanks man, ain't as rough as being the poor bastard I have to layoff..
I say a little prayer every now and then that this crap turns around..
So many people out of work.. Could be worse. I read about some other countries where people are rioting .. No Food, No homes etc..It's not just the US that's hurting. Whole world is getting strung out.

I was laid off a month ago after 7 yrs loyal work. $497/wk unemployment just isn't paying the bills. I do not want to tap 401K...

$497 a week

dam maybe it varies by state.... I think MI is only $356 or some shit like that.
Just to let you guys know... their is a federal program avaible to people who lose their job. It's called TRA and it's like an addition to unemployment.
I think companies have to have 12 employees to qualify
Not exactly sure on how you get registered or if if the company does it for you through your work. You might want to call your local unemployment office and find out. We got ours through our UNION contract when my company closed our plant and let us transfer over to our NON-UNION sister company.
Basically if I now lose my job I get 2 years of unemployment plus 2 years of schooling paid for..... I can use it one time at any time in my lifetime. I have to go to school full time and my schooling must be in a field that the program or my state projects a job to be avaible in..... YOu can do additional schooling as well. I guess they do it on a case to case basis.
Crazy thing is if they shut the doors tommorow all their long time employees will be assed out of anything but unemployment while us former UNION employees get the extended unemployment and the paid schooling

We got voluntary unemployment going on, fucking rocks. I put in for four weeks off. Unemployment check from uncle sam that thanks to obama I won't have to pay taxes on, w00t. Although I think I might have to go back sooner than I want, I was told my fill in freaked out when they saw how much work it was going to be on thursday and went home sick twenty minutes after clocking in. lol
