I'm trying to get my 99 TA A4 dyno-ed, Corsa cut back exhaust, HPP3 programmer,
SLP lid, SLP MAF and SLP cold air induction kit, SLP smooth bellow, 160 SLP thermo, stock engine and transmission..
I live in Irving texas (dallas area). All the dyno places I called they only run dyno pulls
3 for 50-75 bucks. they don't have any software for tuning for LS1. bummer.
Should I be ok with just HyperTech Prog3 that I got looking above, or should I require
the dyno people to use professional tuning softare lile LSedit, HPTuner etc..
whould it be worth the $$ to tune with my mods or HPP3 that I tuned with should be about the same. I know if you got supercharger or nitros or head/cam on engine then
definetely yes do a pro tune, but in my case what's the advice?
Thanks...
BTW. do you know a dyno in Dallas area that actually uses LS1 soft to tune anyways.
and prices for the tune.. Thanks!!!

Navy Blue Metallic- 2000 Camaro Z28
Have you read the whole thread? Sorry to break it to you. Look at page 4 and you'll see that HPP3 is junk.
See my old Dynosheet below. The fist of these pulls had HPP3 the second I deprogrammed it and ran it imediately. The last we waited 5 min and re ran it. This was with a K&N+Lid+smooth bellow and stock exhaust.

I "believe" now the motor is set up at 9.5:1. I go back to the shop Monday after work to drop the car off for some minor adjustments so I will ask then so I can tell you what it is for sure

I have felt very little impact with the HPP3, you are correct, 4-5rwhp probably which is not worth $300 bucks. btw, if I do find a dyno shop to tune it as well with LS1 soft,
I would probably pay 300-400 to get it don right. my question is, if I need to go to a mechanic shop in the future I would have to revert the car's programming to "stock", or just leave it tuned up and it should be fine? comments please..
Thanks!

I just got my 98 Trans Am WS6 dynoed for the first time last night,
I pulled 341 hp at the rear wheels and 356.8 torque
My mods are SLP lid and bellows, loudmouth, SLP harmonic balancer pulley, and the Computer edited from SLP.
That seems like a lot of HP does that seem right with the mods that I have? If you lose 20% in the drivetrain that means im at about 410 at the flywheel. Do these numbers seem right? Im happy with them but I dont want to be mislead.

"98ramairguy".. I did not know they make WS6, 325hp at engine in 1998,, but I thought those were 2000 and on,, but I may be mistaken. if you have manual transmission then it's only about 14-15% loss, the A4 get 18%.. yeah, I think the dyno is a little generous to get 40rwhp gain from stock you need a little more mods,
are you sure the car was not moded a little before you got it? 325-330rwhp is more like what you should be having. Check with another dyno, also I heard the Mustang dynos are a little more generous.. so check it out with another dyno shop..
what's your 1/4 mile by any chance?

Ok guys got the Cam installed and got her tuned. these are the new numbers, will update sig in a little bit. Cam Specs: Comp Cam 224/244 .581/.581 112LSA
SAE Dyno corrected: 350.1 RWHP 344.7 RWTQ thats a nice increase from whats in my sig. 25hp and 14 lbs/tq respectively
Next mods LS6 intake and LT will really wake up the HP and TQ
but with what i have currently im very happy with the results2018 CTS-V: °°668rwhp/658rwtq°°
2013 ZL1: °°590rwhp/576rwtq°°
