Don't overthink it my friend. No you shouldn't feel bad about the car, you bought it and were nice enough to let her use it. Not your fault it didn't work out the way you wanted it to. You weren't married THANK GOD!

Did you let her borrow it, or buy it for her and give it to her as a gift? Sounds like the latter, which in that case, would technically mean it's hers (however wrong it may seem or is). Either way, never, ever, buy anything of that substance for anyone you date ever again lol...especially after such a short period of time.

It's like you were trying to use money to impress or keep this girl around....of which you've learned, doesn't end well for you. When you start off by taking her to fancy restaurants, etc...you immediately set the tone for the entire relationship. You got off easy on this one, but learn from it my man.

I'm pretty sure I didn't spend any real money on my wife till we got engaged, for rings of course. Then not till we got married 4 months later. After that she's been bleeding me dry since....

But seriously she's a thrifty shopper and I can't fault her on the stuff she gets. She almost always thinks of the house and kids before herself. Every once in a while she treats her self. The most expensive crap she spends on is trips to home. $500 tickets plus a month or 2 in Panama.

yep....you dodged a bullet on this one. You learned lessons so not all it wasn't all bad. That's how life works....you never learn what to do until you learn what NOT to do about 20 times.

The way you worded that last post it seemed like Her pain made you feel great. As far as her ducking you, denial about it being over I guess. Didn't want to see you. Didn't want to give the car back because it was useful to her. Could have been a mix of all of the above.

You got the car back, right?

The obvious way to get over this emotionally wrenching experience is to invest in a bit of self-help therapy.

And the best therapy I can think of is to trade that 300 in on a Polaris Slingshot

You'll feel better about it every time you go for a cruise.

    Define "safe"...

IIRC, they're classified as a motorcycle.

They've proven to be very unsafe when broadsided by a fast moving semi or hit with incoming fire from the main gun on an Abrams battle tank.

Only downside is you have to wear a helmet if your state requires a helmet on a motorcycle.

And that varies from state to state. Some consider them as cars while others consider them as motorcycles. I would want a helmet so I could have a face shield. Eating bugs sucks.....

    Get the windshield

And no, I have not personally driven one because right now I need to trim down my fleet (7 tagged, insured, driven vehicles. My wife drives one, I can only drive one at a time)

I mentioned it because I remember you were looking into them a while back.
