I'm sure your 996tt is nice for some. But why dont you try racing a C5 with a twin turbo kit and similar mods and let us know what the results are.

It has a GT30R compressor and a K24 turbine.
3. I clearly stated that the 950 hp figure is “guesstimate.” I have not dynoed my car. A car with the same turbos and fuel system, but 6 pounds less boost, a much more restrictive exhaust, and many fewer mods than my car, produced 732 hp at the wheels.
With 6 additional pounds of boost, a far superior exhaust (no cats and straight through mufflers, as opposed to cats and chamber mufflers), far superior intake plenum, methanol injection, superior intercooler end tanks, etc., my car clearly makes more power . . . likely 100+ more hp (just the additional boost gets me most of the way there).

I never stated that my car is faster than a TT Vette, and my “bubble” would not be burst if I lost to one. I have no misconceptions about where my car stands in the food chain. There are plenty of faster cars, TT Vettes included.
3. Its ironic that, whenever someone posts a kill story, others invariably point out that if the other car had additional mods, the outcome might have been different. “If the Vette was a TT, . . . . “ If my Aunt had a cock, she would be my Uncle. If, if, if . . . Run what you brung. He challenged me and I responded.
4. Its equally ironic that, whenever I post a kill story, someone invariably points out that I could have a faster car for much less money (as though I had no idea, and I selected a Porsche as a cost effective means of making power). I am fully aware that I spent more than I needed to for the power that I have. If my goal was the best bang for the buck, I would not have selected either a Porsche or a Corvette. An 03 Cobra is a far better platform for cost efficient power -- I could build a 9 second 03 Cobra for less than a stock C6 Z06. An older notchback is an even more cost efficient means of making power -- I could create a 9 second notchback for less than the cost of a stock 03 Cobra. I was well aware of these options when I selected a Porsche, but I placed greater emphasis on factors other than cost efficient power. I’ll bet I could build a substantially faster car than yours for less than you spent. You too obviously considered other factors when choosing your car. The same holds true for almost all car owners. Enzo owners do not spend a million dollars because they think it’s a cost efficient way of getting 600 hp. There is MUCH more to cars than simply best bang for the buck.

Damn, your a little touchy. I was just expressing my feelings on this subject. I never dogged your car it's badass but just mearly stated that a Z-06 with the same amount of mods would spank your ass. Please forgive me if i've offended you. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

You have a nice car, but what kind of reaction were you expecting when you come to ls1.com to post a story about a Corvette kill as your first and only thread, claiming a HUGE list of mods, have no shortage of pics of your car, but not one with such mods?
If you want credibility around here post of some track times or dyno sheets. This is a pretty honest place, nobody disrepects badass cars. But we do call bullshit on people pretty often!
BTW, if you have half those mods I don't want to piss you off. Not because I think you'll drive out here and humiliate me, but because I make it out to CA a few times a year, and if I'm ever in LA I want a ride
Eitherway, stick around ls1.com, its always fun to have people with different cars here. Talking shit is why the internet was invented!

Nice car, nice kill if you're not a kiddie troll. The fact that you continue trading barbs with the kiddies makes me think you're a troll.
If not, it's a damn nice car - congrats on having the money to do it - and still have plenty of other nice things in life (assuming that's your all brick drive - which probably leads up to a darn nice pad) but you need to move on with your life as the buzzards will never quit circling here.

hope that win against that c5 was not surprising.......and that you would beat a 2006 zo6 you probably would, but i would agree that mostly eveyone in here would rather own that corvette z06

Who gives a shit about what most people on this site would prefer to own? People on here need to quit being such tools. Seriously, so the guy bought a Porsche cuz he didn't want to blend in, or cuz he wanted something with better fit and finish, or maybe, he just liked the way it looks. Who gives a crap.
Shouldn't we as LS whatever owners be happy not everyone in the world has one? Shouldn't we be happy there are cars out there with different badging for us to race? Think about it.
Besides, that Porsche looks pretty sweet. Hell, I'd be happy to own it. I don't have that kind of money though. Even if I did, I'm not sure that would be the car I'd own. But who knows.
Everyone in here that's doing the "LS1s are better than anything" typical shit should get off their soapbox and look around. Yes, the LS1 is a great engine. Yes, I love owning one. But god damn! There are other cars out there that are bad ass too.

Wow...
First of all, 996TTx50, nice car, nice kill. Some people are obviously pretty envious.
Second of all, kudos to you for taking the time and putting up with the insults to substantiate your claims. Again, some people obviously do not take the time to read through all the information here (as evidenced by the posters who asked for pics after the fact)
Seems like you were in the right to strike back after the Z06 owner gave the first jab. And it also seems like you are well aware that there are 1,000 ways to make a 1,000 Horsepower.. I'd say less than 2% of 1,000 hp cars could actually carve a corner with something besides the door handle. I've always thought it was really cool to mix all forms of performance, and not just straight line acceleration.
Hope you can put up with the critics, for I too would love to vids of your car.Hammer - hammertime.us

not saying anything mean, I just like to see cars that are able to deliver that kind of performance! My bike is the only way I can get goin that fast, and I'd love to see a car be able to match the pace!
